"The Preddy Brothers"

"George and Bill Preddy were brothers who flew Mustangs during WWII. George flew for the 352nd Fighter Group, Bill for the 339th. Tragically, both were killed in combat. George was killed accidentally by friendly fire on December 25, 1944. Bill was killed by enemy ground fire the following April. The brothers were from Greensboro, North Carolina, and both are buried in the Lorraine American Military Cemetery, St. Avold, France. The paintings were donated by me to the Preddy Memorial Foundation who in turn gave them to the Greensboro Historical Museum where the two original paintings are housed for safe and permanent keeping."
