"Hickham Field - The Second Attack"
Hickham Field was attacked twice by the Japanese on
Dec. 7, 1941, along with other locations on Oahu. Hickham Field was a U.S.
Army airbase located right next to Pearl Harbor. During the second attack,
Nakajima B5N "Kates" from the aircraft
carrier Zuikaku dropped 250kg bombs on the hangars, barracks, and runway.
Overhead, a Mitsubishi A6M2 "Zero" from the carrier Akagi is piloted by Lt.
Saburo Shindo as he draws a P-40B Tomahawk away from the bombers below.
Other Zero fighters strafed the field as American pilots and ground crews
tried desperately to man their planes.
